Stewartstown Wastewater Pump Stations

Constructed in 1981, the existing pump stations in Stewartstown were wet well dry pit stations.  Access and safety were major concerns with the evaluation of alternatives, and the Town chose to replace the old stations with submersible pump stations for safety reasons.  Wilcox & Barton, Inc. secured funding through the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development to upgrade both of them.  The project included:

Partial demolition and abandonment of existing pump station wet well and dry well systems

Construction of sewer mains and manholes

Precast concrete wet wells with submersible pump systems

Concrete valve vaults with control valves and flow measurement

New electrical systems and controls

Instrumentation

Emergency generators

Sitework

Restoration and miscellaneous appurtenances
