Civil Engineering for Moretown, Vermont Town Offices

Moretown’s existing town office had been destroyed by Tropical Storm Irene in 2011, and the Town secured funding to rebuild the structure at a new site above the floodplain.  Wilcox & Barton, Inc. was the Civil Engineer for site design and permitting for a new town office.

In the earliest phases of the project, our team assisted the Town in site selection and permitting.  The site chosen by the Selectboard was adjacent to the Moretown Elementary School.  As a result, Wilcox and Barton, Inc. worked to integrate the two sites and the associated infrastructure to maximize efficiency.   The scope of services for this project included layout and grading design, to include raising the site to an elevation significantly above the 100-year flood plain.  Water and sewer utilities were designed to support the new building.
