Supporting Retail Development for CVS in New England

Wilcox & Barton, Inc. has teamed with T.M. Crowley on numerous projects. In Wayland, MA, we performed a hazardous materials survey on a historic family restaurant that had been abandoned for years. The 14,000 sf building was structurally unsound (due to a collapsed roof and kitchen floor) and exposure to the elements left the interior coated with mold and fungal growth. Due to the state of decay, Wilcox & Barton, Inc. performed the building survey in two stages: the first floor and exterior were surveyed initially; survey of the basement was completed following abatement of the roof.

Wilcox & Barton, Inc. also performed soil management services during construction of a Wayland CVS Pharmacy on site. A portion of the site was listed as a Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) disposal site, which could have added costs to manage contaminated soil and/or groundwater in accordance with the MCP. We provided significant savings to the client by completing additional delineation to document that the excavation areas were not within the former MCP disposal site boundaries.

At a project location in Plymouth, MA, Wilcox & Barton, Inc. facilitated the construction of an additional CVS Pharmacy by performing asbestos abatement management services prior to the demolition of two buildings, a former restaurant and a family residence. We managed the abatement contractor, led walk through meetings, and provided oversight during the asbestos abatement.
